It dropped a little rain this A.M. Not much but just enough to make me batten down the hatches and wait it out. When it let up enough to risk setting up I drove out on to the flat lands and painted the storm as it broke off over MT. Fanny. No. I’m not kidding. “MT. Fanny.” Cove is nestled in it’s shadow. When I finished and got back to Katherine’s she drove us to Baker City. It is a very nice little art town at the foot of the Elk Horn Mountains. We had lunch did some shopping and took the back roads home. Katherine has lived here long enough to know all the back roads like a local and has shown us many beautiful places we would have never known about.
